1. General

1.1 Warranty
The warranty conditions expires if a bike is resold by the original customer.
We keep your SCOTT dealer informed on the progress of your warranty claim. Please contact your SCOTT dealer for further information.
Warranty policy is defined according to the specific legal regulations of your country. For products purchased in the USA, please follow the link for more information.
There is a warranty for frames of 5 years. However, the warranty is only valid, if a proof of maintenance from an authorized SCOTT dealer in every of the first three years after the purchase can be brought forward. #The authorized SCOTT dealer is admonished to confirm the maintenance work by stamp and signature.#In case no or an incomplete proof of annual maintenance can be brought forward the warranty for the frame is reduced from 5 to 3 years.#Costs for maintenance and service have to be borne by the owner of the SCOTT bike.#For the Gambler, Voltage FR and BMX bikes the warranty period is limited to 2 years.

1.3 Product Care and Repair
Please follow the care instructions on the tag of your SCOTT glove. For washing, we recommend that you hand wash your gloves with a mild detergent in warm water. Gently squeeze the gloves from fingertips to wrist to remove excess water without twisting. Then hang to dry (fingers facing upwards). #Do not use a washing machine, tumble dryer or any type of chlorine bleach.
Please follow the care instructions on the tag of your SCOTT garment. Before washing, we recommend to zip the front closure, pockets and pit zips completely, and fasten all flaps and straps. It is recommended to wash dark colors together. As we mainly use fabrics with quick-drying properties, there is no need to tumble dry the garment. Do not iron it, as the fabric fiber is mostly made of a Polyester and/or Polyamide base.

2. Bike

2.1 Products
Yes you can, but only if you make sure not to clamp or squeeze the frame tubing.
There are small Allen screws at the front of each dropout you can space your wheel by adjusting them in or out.
We sell a case that is designed for bikes with an integrated seatmast. If you already have a case but you cannot pack your bike properly, we recommend to remove the crankset and/or the fork.
Please make sure to use the original clamping and mounting devices delivered with the trainer. In case of doubt please contact an authorized Scott Dealer for further advise.
We use semi-integrated or Zero Stack headsets, although headsets from all manufacturers are compatible with our frames if the cup is designed for a 44mm internal diameter headtube. If you want to find out exactly which headseat you need you can find it engraved on your original headset (either 45x45 or 45x36). New headsets or bearings can be purchased at your local SCOTT dealer.
HMF is a high modules carbon matrix allowing lightweight frame production. HMX (High Modules Extreme) utilizes higher modules fibers allowing us to use even less material than HMF, resulting in an even lighter frame that maintains the same riding characteristics and strength as the HMF frame.
The Solace offers a comfortable ride due to its endurance, geometry, and SCOTT's proprietary Shock Damping System (SDS) which increases comfort by means of shock absorption. The Addict is one of the lightest production bikes on the market. The frame and fork weigh less than 1kg.
There are a lot of bottom bracket styles and sizes used on SCOTT bikes. The easiest way to determine which bottom bracket size and style your bike utilizes is to look up the technical specifications of the model you own in our bike archive
2.2 Product Care and Repair
SCOTT does not offer any repair service for carbon bike frames. Once the carbon on a bike has been compromised we do not recommend that it be repaired. The carbon-fibers could be compromised far beyond what can be seen on a visual inspection, therefore we don't recommend the repairing of broken carbon frames.
Unfortunately this is not possible as SCOTT does not offer kits due to copyright issues.
SCOTT does not offer touch-up paint or repainting for used frames.
Boa is a proprietary closure system of steel Lace, nylon guides and a mechanical reel designed to address the long list of deficiencies found in traditional closures.
Boa Technology guarantees the Boa Closure System reel and laces for the lifetime of the product.#This is the Boa Dialed In for Life Guarantee. Redeem Guarantee.
In the rare event that your Boa Lace breaks (we experience less than 5% of our laces returned because of breakage) you can, as you would with a traditional lace, tie it in a knot. The low-friction nature of the Boa Closure System will require three very tight knots to allow you to get back to the trailhead, bottom of the slope, or home.#Many snowboard and cycling specialty stores are well trained in performing Boa Lace repairs and often have spare laces and parts available.#The Boa Closure System is designed to be user-friendly for repairs and replacements. You can request free replacement parts online via our Boa Dialed In for Life Guarantee and view downloadable instruction sheets and videos. Most first-time repairs take several minutes, but with a little experience re-tying a spool can take less than 120 seconds.

2.3 Fit and Sizing
We recommend a 3 to 4mm gap between the tire and the rear triangle on both sides to have enough clearance in muddy conditions. Please check the actual width of the tire as measurements and indications may vary for different manufacturers.
In general, we recommend not to exceed 110kgs/243lbs. More details can be found in the general manual . Please note: kids bikes are designed with a combined weight limit of 50kgs/110lbs
The right bike size can be influenced by several variables, such as flexibility or personal anthropometrics. The SCOTT sizing chart which can be found on our website is a solid starting point to choose the right frame size. We advise you to buy your new bike at an authorised SCOTT dealer. Our dealerships have a wealth of experience in choosing the right frame size and fit you properly on your new bike. If you prefer a professional fitting we advise you to visit a SCOTT dealer who offers fitting services in collaboration with RadLabor, the Fitting System Partner of SCOTT Sports.

The frame size is embedded in the serial number of your bike (f.e. 52, 54, 56 for a road bike or S, M, L for a MTB). It is as well embedded in a logo on the frame close to the toptube/seattube intersection.
2.4 Technologies and Specs
Our full suspension bikes feature the following travel settings: Genius LT: Front: 170, Rear: 170mm, 110mm, Climb / Genius 900All of our Genius LT bikes have 3 travel settings 185mm, 110mm and lockout (all Genius have 150mm, 95mm and lockout). The full carbon Sparks (RC, 10, 20 and 30) all have 3 settings 110mm, 80mm and lockout. The aluminum Sparks (35 and up) have full travel 110mm and lockout.#Freeride and Downhill bikes do offer different travel settings, but are not adjustable on the fly.#Watch the TwinLoc Video for more information.
Traction control is the middle travel setting on the Spark and Genius. This travel setting decreases your sag, giving you a better head angle for climbing and allows the shock to ramp up faster, keeping you on top of the pedals while riding your bike in uphill sections.
TwinLoc is SCOTT's proprietary bar mounted lever that controls 3 travel settings and the fork lockout, so you can keep both hands on the bars at all times. Read more about the TwinLock technlogy here.
2.5 Other
Every SCOTT bike shorts come with either an integrated padding for the tight fit shorts, or a removable inner short with padding for the loose fit shorts. Any cyclist will tell you "no underwear under your padding - ever"! Our padded shorts are designed in a way that you do not need to wear anything underneath. Wearing underwear underneath your padding would just cause rubbing and chaffing, making you very uncomfortable.

Somewhere that is protected from direct sunlight
Argon is not dangerous for environment, but as it doesn't contain any oxygen it should not be inhaled.
Our skis ship with a 1 side and base bevel.#Our skis are milled with 88° side and 1° base edge tunning.
You can buy them in stores where SCOTT packs are sold.
The Alpride system is lighter, and the cartridges are more affordable than the competition's products.
Your local ski shop can order lens or might have them in stock.
3.2 Product Care and Repair
The perfect fit can only be achieved by visiting an authorised retailer. Use the Dealer Search function to locate a suitable SCOTT dealer.
Our grips are all pressure fit to the shaft and can be pulled off without tools by twisting and pulling simultaneously.
You can wash your protector by hand for plastic shells, for D3O protectors SCOTT recommends to remove the D3O plate before washing and to put the garment piece in the wash machine.
Be careful when cleaning your sunglasses! Remove any dirt by blowing softly on them. Polish the lenses with a soft cotton cloth or a special lens cloth. Do not use paper towels or other materials containing wood fiber or any other cleaning material.
Baskets are press fit to the pole shaft and will knock off when tapped from the top. Pay attention to your replacement basket, if it has a collar remove the collar from the pole as well, if you only have the molded basket focus your attention to the basket rather than the collar.
Upon production, SCOTT GORE-TEX® garments and gloves have a water repellent treatment. This treatment prevents the fabric from attracting moisture and dirt, while simultaneously giving optimal moisture vapor transportation to the fabric. Over time, the water repellency will be worn away (especially in vulnerable places like the seat, knees, shoulders, elbows and hands). In order to maintain this water repellency, the garments and gloves should be re-impregnated after each wash (before drying), or when the water repellency is no longer performing. For water repellency treatments, you can use a re-impregnation spray which ensures that only the outer side of the garment and glove will be water repellent. This will again, optimize the moisture transportation of your SCOTT product.
Store your helmet in the pouch it was delivered in to make sure that your helmet is protected from to much UV light.
You should turn down the Z-number (DIN/ISO) of your binding to the minimum setting to relieve the spring. Attention: A specialist must adjust the binding before you ski again! It is also good for the binding to grease it slightly with a spray to help protect it from corrosion. Check with your local Marker dealer for the best advise and for the necessary materials to keep your bindings working like new.

Before washing, we recommend to zip the front closure, pockets and pit zips completely, and fasten all flaps and straps. #Wash your garment at 40 degrees without spinning, in a mild detergent without softening or rinsing agents. Do not use chlorine bleach. If possible, rinse your garment twice. Afterwards, tumble dry on low heat with 2 clean tennis balls in the jacket until completely dry. Do not use fabric softener. Do not dry clean.

Before washing, we recommend to zip the front closure, pockets and pit zips completely, and fasten all flaps and straps. #Wash your garment at 40 degrees without spinning, in a mild detergent without softening or rinsing agents. Do not use chlorine bleach. Softeners, rinsing agents and bleaches can damage the fabric’s water-resistant properties (not the membrane) and the color of the fabric. If possible, rinse your garment twice. Afterwards, line dry your garment, or tumble dry on a warm gentle cycle. Once it is dry, tumble dry your garment for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric.
You should have the binding adjustment checked after three weeks of use, and at least once a winter season. It is important to readjust the settings if there are any changes to you physically, or to any of your system parts: ski, boot, and binding.
With minimal care, your SCOTT goggles will provide maximum performance.#To clean your SCOTT goggle lens wash gently using dish soap and running water.#Let the lens air dry or dab dry with a soft clean cloth. Avoid wiping the inside of the lens when wet as this may damage the NoFog™ Anti-Fog Lens Treatment. If the lens becomes scratched or severely impacted, see your authorized SCOTT dealer to purchase a replacement lens.#Do not use no-fog cloths or no-fog solutions.#Do not expose to chemicals or harsh detergents.#Do not expose to extreme heat such as car dashboards or heater vents.#Do not lay the goggles on the lens.#Scratched lenses are not covered by warranty#Store dry goggles in a warm dry place.
There are as many bindings on the market as there are types of skiers. We suggest discussing the options with your local ski shop sales person, as they are best prepared to help you navigate all the brands and features.
If you ski on wide powder or free-ride skis you might need special wide brakes. For SCOTT bindings you can get 80, 90, 100 and 115 mm wide brakes as an accessory. It is very important to have brakes that work properly, otherwise your skis can turn into a dangerous weapon! Your authorized SCOTT dealer can order wide brakes for you and mount them. On most skis a recommended boot center line is indicated by the ski manufacturer. It is also possible to mount the binding in a position closer to the tip or the end of the ski. If the ski is mounted more to the tip it will turn easier, if it is mounted towards the end, the ski will act more solid at high speed. Regardless of personal preference, you must go to an authorized SCOTT dealer to have it mounted in the correct way.
SCOTT garments and gloves are designed to provide exceptional weather protection and breathability. Regular care and washing ensures the optimum performance of your SCOTT garments and gloves.#Dirt and other surface contaminants such as body oil, sunscreen and sweat can reduce the effectiveness of the textile's durable water repellent (DWR) treatment, affecting performance (water- and windproofness) and breathability.#Properly washing your SCOTT garments and gloves removes dirt and other contaminates, restoring its water repellency and breathability. The products are not harmed by washing. On the contrary, this will prolong the life of the garment.

Gently squeeze the gloves from fingertips to wrist to remove excess water without twisting. Hang dry (fingers facing upwards). #Do not use a washing machine, tumble dryer or any type of chlorine bleach. #Removable liners should also be hand-washed and dried separately. Both the outer shells and the glove liners should NOT be turned inside out.
3.3 Fit and Sizing
The general rule is you want your forearm and bicep to make a 90 angle when holding the pole upside down, gripping the pole directly under the basket.

3.4 Technologies and Specs
A hard protector is made with a combination of a plastic shell with special honeycomb shaped impact absorbing material. A SCOTT soft protector is made from D3O, a smart polymer material which automatically adjusts its properties from flexible in general use, to hard and protective under impact.

SCOTT Light Sensitive lenses engage photochromic technology and adapt automatically to sunlight intensity. Light Sensitive lenses react to light changes, within seconds the lens will either darken if the sunlight gets stronger or lighten if the sunlight gets weaker.
SCOTT is producing helmets with 2 different constructions: PC IN-MOLD Construction, ABS Construction (Hardshell)
SCOTT Polarized lenses are designed to diminish dazzling reflections caused by reflected light off of flat surfaces, such as snow or water. Polarization separates useful light from the glaring light that distorts color, guaranteeing depth perception and improved vision. This delivers a lens with proper clarity and contrast, achieving optical perfection.
The ‘level 2’ impact tests are more demanding than ‘level 1’ tests. Level 2 is more dedicated to motorcycling protectors.
WTR, which stands for "Walk to Ride", is a specific label certified by the TUV (German control and normalisation organisation) ensuring an official compatibility between specific bindings and specific ski boot walk soles (SALOMON walk soles already available in Winter 2012)
Lens tints are a personal preference and the best choice for you may vary depending on the mountain, the point in the season or even the day. Your local ski shop can help you determine the lens that will be best for your average day on the hill.
Lens tints are a personal preference but we have multiple lenses that excel in low light and flat-light situations. We recommend a lens with 40% or more light transmission in a tint you like. Visit the Lens chart tab to see what lens options are available for your goggle.
To provide every skier the best comfort SCOTT offers two ventilation systems: The SCOTT Active S-Vent System channels air over and around the skiers head removing stagnant air from the helmet. The SCOTT G-Vent System pulls air through the goggle frame removing the stagnant air that causes fogging.
SCOTT’s proprietary injection molding process and hard coat treatment guarantees that every OptiView lens is optically correct and distortion free. We offer this quality in spherical or cylindrical shapes.
Spherical lenses curve horizontally and vertically around your face, giving the goggles a bubbled look. Cylindrical lenses curve horizontally while remaining flat vertically, giving a flat look.
SCOTT recommends using hard shell protection for increased penetration protection and soft shell protection for increased all day comfort and flexibility.

4. Running

4.1 Products
A good running shoe will last approximately 600-800 kilometers. If you run 50km per week, that's 3-4 months. Any walking or training around you do in the shoes also impacts their life, if you want your shoes to last longer, only use them for running. Alternating pairs of shoes can also extend their life (within that 600-800 kilometer window). This is because every time you wear your shoes, the midsole compresses. It takes 24-48 hours for the midsole to fully decompress. If it's not allowed to do so, the shoe will not cushion you as well and will wear out more quickly.
4.2 Product Care and Repair
You should not wash your running shoes in the washing machine, as the temperature and the laundry detergent will damage the adhesive bonding between the sole and the tooling. Furthermore, the flexibility of the sole construction will decrease due to temperature and water which causes harder EVA midsoles. Reflective prints and design colour print might peel off easier due to the temperature and moisture during the washing process.
Your running shoes are a training device which need regularly care and cleaning to ensure a longer lifetime. If your shoes are really dirty, let them dry and brush off the mud and coarse dirt thoroughly without any water. Do not use water, as this will result in the penetration of water and mud into the sensitive mesh material. Once the coarse dirt is off the shoe you can wash the shoes with a cloth using water and gentle soap. If your inner soles are dirty you can take them out and handwash them with warm water and soap. The outsole is robust and durable and can be washed with a strong brush and water.
4.3 Fit and Sizing
If your orthopaedic inserts are specially made for sports, you can easily take out the SCOTT insoles and put your orthopaedic insoles inside. This is recommended only for shoes with neutral support, do not use your own insoles with medial support shoes.
Running shoes should be comfortably snug around your midfoot and heel, with about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Generally, your running shoe size is half a size to a size and a half bigger than your dress shoe size. The reason you want this much space is twofold. First of all, when you run your feet will swell. Any shoe that is a little tight will soon become numbing. Secondly, when you run your foot will slide forward a little in your shoe. If your toes hit the end of your shoe repeatedly, the impact will cause you to bruise and eventually lose your toenails. If this happens, your shoes are definitely too small!
4.4 Technologies and Specs
Eride flow uses the strategic placement of outsole materials to guide the foot through the most efficient stride while providing the optimal amount of support. Eride flow is individually engineered in each of our models to guide, cushion and support specific foot types.
It is the utilization of a unique rocker shape creating a very stable midstance giving you a faster and more efficient running style.
SCOTT AeroFoam combines lightweight materials with a wear resistant compound, resulting in shoes that are lighter, have more cushioning and last longer than traditional running shoes.
The extended landing zone increases the contact area by 75% compared to traditional outsoles. This leads to more grip and traction especially during downhill running. The peak heel pressure is reduced by 32% compared to other outsoles without an extended landing zone.
The SCOTT running shoe insole system offers two different insoles for men and women to ensure a better fit. The women specific insole delivers increased thickness to adjust for smaller forefoot volume and a higher wrap to adjust for narrower heel width.
4.5 Other
Don't wear cotton socks! When you sweat, cotton gets wet and soggy and stays wet and soggy. This softens the skin and causes blisters. Synthetic socks, made out of materials like Coolmax and Drynamix, will wick the moisture away from your feet to keep them dry and blister free.

5. Motosports

5.1 Products
SCOTT goggles are engineered to engage flawlessly with a variety of helmets.
It is extremely dangerous to modify your helmet by drilling holes, cutting the shell and/or absorption liner. Any such actions will weaken the helmet and may cause serious injury in the event of an accident. Removing any parts such as, vents, liners, cheek pads, mouth guards, rubber trimming, etc. before use will also disrupt the intended design of the helmet and may expose you to severe injury or death in the event of an accident. Do not paint your helmet as the chemicals of the paint may adversely affect the materials used in your helmet, thereby weakening it.
Helmets are designed to absorb only ONE impact. After your helmet has endured any impact, the absorption liner portion of your helmet will have dispersed the energy from the impact, thus rendering the liner compacted and therefore compromised. Even if there is NO VISIBLE damage to the shell, the helmet’s usefulness is expired after one impact.
All SCOTT lenses are optically engineered to screen out 100% of harmful UVA /UVB rays.
Remove the old lens from the frame and insert the new lens into the frame lens slot starting at the temple area. Continue working the lens into the frame lens slot along the nose. Now engage the lens keyholes into their respective frame retention posts, working from the nose toward the upper frame. It may be necessary to stretch the frame slightly as you progress in order to keep the lens keyholes and frame post lined up properly. Be sure the entire lens is properly seated in the frame slot and all frame retention posts are fully engaged with the lens keyholes.
A used helmet, even if it has not been damaged, should be always be destroyed. Do not sell or give away old helmets as the protective foam contours to the shape of the original riders head and will not provide a new user with full protection.

5.2 Product Care and Repair
Yes, the padding should be removed from the brace and hand-washed in a mild detergent. Please consult your brace’s user-manual for complete instructions on care instructions.
Remove the liner and cheek pads and hand wash with normal detergent in cold water. Let them air dry. Do not use a washing machine or tumble dry. Hand wash and air dry only. To remove the cheek pads, gently pull the padding off from the three snap buttons holding it in place and pull out the retaining flap from underneath the lower helmet beading. To remove the liner, unsnap the rear portion of the inner located towards the rear of the helmet. Gently pull out the liner without forcing the liner out from its front clips located at the top portion of the visor opening. Reverse the steps to reinstall liner.

Do not use any solvents, hot water, glass cleaners, or gasoline to clean your helmet. These materials can cause severe damage to the helmet and weaken its structural integrity. To clean your helmet, it is best to use lukewarm water with a damp soft cloth. Rinse off and dry using a soft cloth.

Please follow the care instructions on the tag of your SCOTT glove. For washing, we recommend that you hand wash your gloves with a mild detergent in warm water. Gently squeeze the gloves from fingertips to wrist to remove excess water without twisting. Then hang to dry (fingers facing upwards). #Do not use a washing machine, tumble dryer or any type of chlorine bleach.
5.3 Fit and Sizing
While the SCOTT neck brace should sit on the front member, shoulder wings and thoracic member, as close to the body as possible, it can be worn over a jacket as long as it sits correctly on the shoulder, chest and the thoracic member areas. We cannot provide any assurances with respect to use of third party protective gear with the SCOTT neck brace since the manner in which such third party gear is used or worn, and its condition, may significantly affect the function of the brace.
The SCOTT Commander series is specifically designed to accommodate SCOTT neck braces in order to maximized comfort and protection. All other SCOTT protectors can also be worn with SCOTT neck braces. In general cases a SCOTT neck brace can be worn over a chest protector as long as it sits correctly on the shoulder, chest and the thoracic member areas. Referring to the User Manuals, the best placement of the thoracic strut is directly up against the body, i.e. under the chest protector. Keep in mind the purpose of the thoracic strut is to prevent rotation of the brace.
Using measurements of your chest circumference you can reference the sizing chart to assist you in selecting the appropriate size.
The only way to ensure the best possible fit is to physically try on the helmet prior to purchase. To assist you with this process SCOTT provides a sizing chart. To use the sizing chart measure your head size by passing a tape measure around your head, approximately 2 cm above the eyebrow line. Select the helmet size that closest matches the measurement. Since this process is not always accurate and helmet sizes do not always match perfectly with this basic measurement, it is important to select a helmet size that fits snugly, but without pressure points.
Pass the strap through both rings starting with the inside ring. Separate the rings and pull the free end of strap back through the inside ring only. Secure the free end of the snap using the red connectors.#Proper tightening of the chinstrap is critical to the functionality of this helmet. If you are able to pull down on the fastened chinstrap from under your chin and create slack, it is not properly fastened through the D-Rings.
5.4 Technologies and Specs
There is a mechanical adjustment located at the bottom of each side of the goggle, allowing you to choose between four positions to get a customized face and nose fit.

All SCOTT Braces help protect riders from 5 types of head/neck impacts by employing Alternative Load Path Technology™. This innovation helps disperse the energy, typically transferred to the neck, resulting from an impact to the head and assists in the transferring of forces away from the vulnerable neck structures to less vulnerable areas of the body and is pivotal in the design of all SCOTT neck Braces. In a typical face-plant type accident without a SCOTT Neck Brace, the force of the impact is transferred from the ground to the helmet, through the helmet to the scull and scull base where it is then transferred through the neck to the back (thoracic spine). With the SCOTT-Brace fitted, the force will instead transfer from the ground to the helmet, through the helmet onto the SCOTT Neck Brace once contact is made, some of the force will therefore be transferred to the brace and dispersed to the less vulnerable parts of the torso. If the impact is significant enough, the brace is designed to fail in crumple zones (similar to those seen in cars), thereby helping to absorb some of the energy of the impact.
ConeHead™ is the developmental codename for a revolutionary new way to mold EPS foam for helmets. The new ConeHead™ acts like a crumple zone around the head to absorb and dissipate impact forces more effectively than current hard foam liners. There are two different densities of foam as well as two different foams with their own characteristics of recovery from impact and inter-foam bond strength.#In a crash, the impact force pushing towards the head causes the cones to compress which creates lateral forces spreading sideways through the higher density outer foam layer. Impact energy/force is absorbed by this lateral motion. At the same time, the head is travelling in the opposite direction, compressing the base of the lower density cones and slowing the accelerating head. The result is lower G-force experience for your head.#The benefits: a lighter helmet + softer protective shock absorbing foam closer to your head.
SAS TEC is viscoelastic foam with memory effect. SAS-TEC foam reacts promptly and without any time delay. The energy absorption goes linear, which keeps the impact forces to the human body at a low level. It is an adaptive absorption: the air which is embedded in the foam´s cells provokes a progressive absorption. The protector remains soft in case of slowly increasing forces; however when it comes to a fast heavy impact the resistance of the foam grows with increasing speed.
3-layer GORE-TEX® construction features an outshell membrane and lining bonded to a functional layer and is best for extreme conditions providing the highest weather protection. Z-liner GORE-TEX® construction features a membrane inserted liner between outshell and lining light for a soft solution with a non-restrictive designs.

SCOTT pads are made with a PU foil over the pad. It protects against abrasion and penetration. The soft pads are more durable and more resistant thanks to the foil.
